Scholarship Program

 

 

Congratulations to Peter Sylvester, & Albert Umoh recipients of our 2009 annual Leadership and Achievement Scholarship

 

  • Our scholarship program was initiated in November of 2004, and the first scholarships were awarded in 2006.  
     

  • We have awarded over 15 scholarships in 4 years.
     

  • The number of scholarships awarded annually vary, depending on funding and the number of qualified candidates.
     

  • Eligibility

    1. Applicant must be of verifiable Annang Origin, i.e. from original Ikot Ekpene/Abak/Etim Ekpo areas – however many local governments those currently constitute.
    2. An applicant must currently be attending an institution of higher learning with a minimum of one year’s results to show.
    3. To show academic competence, an applicant is expected to submit the following:
      1. Results of standardized tests like JAMB, SAT, GCE etc..
      2. School certificate results.
      3. Semester/term results in college
    4. A written essay touching on specific subjects outlined in the application is also required.
    5. Letter of recommendations from the following:
      1. A professor (lecturer) familiar with the applicant's work.
      2. A reputable person in the applicant's city/village, etc.
    6. Since this is also a needs-based scholarship the applicant is expected to demonstrate:
      1. That he/she has a need for the scholarship.
      2. Verify that he/she does not have any other scholarship.
  • Award Characteristics

    1. Award will be 60,000 NGN. This may be more or less depending on the requirements of the school.
    2. Award time (TBD)
    3. Award can be renewable depending on satisfactory performance
